Currently listening to: the occasional siren, leafblowers, street noise. Yes, I have my windows open in January.
Currently drinking/eating: diet coke, chocolate panettone from Bakeshop.
Currently wearing: zebra print Snuggie.
Hai. I know it's been a while, and I hate being one of those off again, on again bloggers. Hell, I don't even think I can actually consider myself a blogger at this point with this waste of internet space. But hey, here I am, and I felt like writing.
It's strange, because I am CRAZY stressed out right now: I have 8 (annnnd, now 9) unlistened-to voicemails, a ton of unanswered emails, rented tablecloths to be dropped off, freight elevators to be reserved, boxes to be packed, stuff to be organized, dishes to be cleaned, laundry to be done, things to be moved to storage, and I feel like doing none of it. I'm hoping that after I post this I'll be swept away with a great rush of motivation, but that's doubtful. I'm moving this weekend and while I'm super excited about the new abode, I am freaking out about the process. I've got friends helping me, which is fantastic, but it's still nerve-wracking to make sure the electricity is on, and nothing gets broken, and my friends won't hate me afterward, and my furniture will fit in the new place. Plus, my money situation is pretty dire. With the deposits and extra rent and an impulse MUCH-larger-than-I-could-afford donation to the Red Cross, I've got to figure out how to come up with some extra money ASAP. And I think that's going to mean asking the parents, which is not fun... ever.
But woosh, I'm going to try to put all of that behind me for a bit and focus on the future. My new place is an absolutely adorable carriage house in Inman Park, which means a backyard for Tikka and more money for Kiki. While I love Midtown and will certainly miss having all of my friends within walking distance, I think it will be a good move for me. Next week I'm off to San Francisco for work which is always a fantastic (if not overwhelming and exhausting) time. I'm heading from there to DC to see some old friends which I am absolutely thrilled about as I haven't been there in nearly a year. It's been way too long, for sure. Now to just figure out what I'm doing and where I'm staying...
In other fantastic news, it is currently 60 degrees outside (yes, in January), which is absolute heaven. A vast difference from just two weeks ago where we couldn't break freezing for days on end. So hooray for that.
So yeah, I suppose that's about it. Most boring post ever. But hopefully this will motivate me to update soon so this gets pushed to the bottom of my page.

in case you didn't figure it out already...
I heart my dog. Like, a lot. I've officially turned into a crazy dog lady, loads better than a crazy cat lady, yes? So today is National Dog Day, and while I don't need a holiday to share my love for Teeks, I figured it deserved a post.
So yes, in ultimate cheese fashion, I've created a video. Be kind, this is my first time editing a video EVER.

the perfect weekend?
Currently listening to: Don't Look Back in Anger, Oasis
Currently drinking/eating: cold leftover pizza and a diet coke.
Currently wearing: roomy trapeze dress-- it doesn't scratch the sunburn!
The weekend, summed up in one picture:
Saturday and Sunday were the first days where I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, that tunnel being a hot and humid summer. Sure, highs were still well in to the 80s, but there was an occasional light (and cool!) breeze that would tickle it's way across my shoulders, reminding me that Fall is closer than I think. After being overserved on Friday (and a late night trip to Waffle House) I woke up Saturday in need of a bit of detox. Thankfully, I live stumbling distance from Piedmont Park: the most perfect spot to dry out in the sunshine. Tikka and I settled in to a slightly shady spot, I munched on cherries and read Dostoyevsky for about 10 minutes before falling into a lovely little cat nap.
... and then Sunday I got to do it all over again, except this time there were Willy's quesadillas and frozen yogurt involved. I can't tell you how much I love a good patch of grass and the way sun feels on my skin. Unfortunately, it's too pasty to handle it for more than an hour or so.
Sunday night was dinner at the parents house, on the patio: ribs, barbeque chicken, tomato salad, fresh sweet corn, and homemade peach cobbler. Plus a few gin and tonics, of course. I really don't think I could have asked for a better, more relaxing weekend.
...and now on to the most insane week of all time. eep. I shall keep these pictures in my head for when things get all ugly and stress-y.

friday i'm in love.
Currently listening to: Hey Ladies, Beastie Boys.
Currently drinking/eating: very strong g&t, triple lime.
Currently wearing: pink wrap dress, tan wedges.
Ah, Fridays. Despite not working a 9-to-5 and typically being busier on the weekends work-wise than during the week, I can't shake my love for Fridays and the joy they bring the world. It's like opening a gigantic window to a 65 degree sunny day: you've got the whole weekend at your fingertips and whatever you like to do with it. Plus, Friday nights are typically much more fun than Saturdays. Not sure why, but perhaps it's the lack of desperation in the air. Because after all, if you don't get trashed on Friday, there's always Saturday. Saturdays lead to messiness... hence you'll rarely find me out on a Saturday.
Today was a lovelier Friday than most: a day date with my madre, chock full of delicious lunch, a mani/pedi, and some great conversation. There aren't many people that I'd rather spend my time with than my mom, and regardless of any issues that I may have with this fine city I live in, it's always comforting to know she's only 7 miles away. /end sappiness.
I am craving Fall more than I think I've ever craved it before (and I loooove Fall. I mean, PUMPKINS). So today, I decided to get a little touch of Fall on my toes in the form of OPI's "No Spain No Gain." Despite the obnoxious name (can I please find the person who's job it is to name nail polishes? I would like to steal that job. Thank you.) I lurv it. The perfect berry/wine color without being goth. J'adore.

I'm preparing for an outing to Swinging Richards, a male strip club (I must give them props for their name... almost good as the Three Legged Cowboy, also in Midtown). This will be a first for me, and I'm not sure I'm prepared. Will recite horror stories tomorrow, no doubt. Tikka is shooting me dirty looks. Not sure if she's peeved I'm going out and leaving her, or if she knows the dirtiness that awaits me.
